OK, that's about the extent of my French - it's about as good as my Hindi.
So here we are in Provence, in the South of France. The sun is shining, we are staying on a delightful converted lavender farm and I can't stop eating. Oh the things I have been missing! All types of smelly cheeses, hams, French baguettes, fresh cream cakes and real beef steaks with frites. It's heaven!
We passed through Aix-en-Provence on the way to our cottage, stopping at a farmer's market. I took so many photos of wonderful French delicacies - images that I can drool over when I'm back in Mumbai (not to say that I am not already missing curry, dhal and chicken malai kebabs of course!)
Here is a little 'taster' of what I have been suffering...
Wonderful salamies |
The biggest mushrooms you have ever seen! (Ceps) |
Nougat |
Not sure the vegetables can beat Pali market - but so good to have fresh, clean salad |
Pots of chocolate |
Freshly hewn lavender - so fragrant! |
Colourful macaroons - although I doubt they can surpass Mumbai's very own Le15 Patisserie |
Pain au chocolat, croissants, etc |
No-one does a tart like the French! |
Adorable packaging for these sweets |
More colour - traditional Marseillaise soaps |
French cheeses for breakfast (I think a little mouse may have been down in the middle of the night to have a nibble at them ;) |
Come back later when I will be posting pictures of our cute Provencal cottage...it's so beautiful here!
Thanks for stopping by my little piece of heavenly France.
Mmm ... making me very hungry and just a little envious! Would love to know where you are staying as we are always looking for nice places to stay in France.
