Paradise en Provence

Well it took a bit of time to get back to you - I guess I was too busy relaxing and enjoying myself!  I am now in the UK but I just had to post pictures of the delightful Provencal cottage we stayed in during our holiday in France - on a converted lavender farm near the beautiful hilltop village of Saignon.

Les Lavadins

The cottage has been refurbished in a typical French 'shabby chic' fashion - beautifully casual yet very comfortable.  To the front were views across autumnal lavender fields (sadly, already harvested) and beyond to Mount Ventoux.  At the back was a huge garden with fruit trees and a beautiful swimming pool.

As you can imagine - it was very hard to leave this place!

Typical rural style kitchen - complete with all mod cons!
Beautiful detailing (and the odd used beer bottle being our contribution!)
Blue and white decor throughout - cushion covers in typical Provencal fabrics

There's even a jar for curry powder!
Pastis anyone? Or perhaps a nice glass of Cotes de Ventoux?
Still Life

Cute bedroom in the eaves...

...with glorious views across freshly mown lavender fields...

...and an ensuite bathroom with a standalone tub

Antique chair outside the second bedroom

Our very own feline resident!

Pretty garden to the rear

Barbecue and outdoor seating area to the side of the house

Our private swimming pool - but a bit too cold to swim in at the end of September!

View across the hewn lavender fields to the mountains beyond.
Interesting tree in the foreground which looks like it has been struck by lightening.

The view every sun down

The view from our bathroom!
