I have been to couple of Thali restaurants in and around Mumbai and its suburbs with the entire family and its always a fun [in right sense] to enjoy so many dishes in one meal. Its not an easy job to finish the whole thali !

Thanks,

UmeshAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6209917895693447861.post-78204032617107696762012-08-28T19:08:00.407+05:302012-08-28T19:08:00.407+05:30Congratulations on ...er... surviving your first t...Congratulations on ...er... surviving your first thali. I am an Indian and have eaten thalis quite often and still manage to get overwhelmed each time. You seem to have fared quite well :-)Sudhageehttp://thatandthisinmumbai.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6209917895693447861.post-29832899709155252102012-08-21T14:40:12.486+05:302012-08-21T14:40:12.486+05:30Hello J, it so good to have you around to translat...Hello J, it so good to have you around to translate for me! Thanks...I didn't think it had the texture of okra but I wasn't sure and I had to find a recipe from google (which clearly was wrong!).

Man, I would have died if I had to each that much food...well done! I am always impressed by the number of courses or dishes that can be consumed in one sitting - plus lentils are very filling and all the breads. I have added you to my list of blogs, I look forward to reading more.BombayJuleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13832768677477639407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6209917895693447861.post-21758030310097978622012-08-21T14:23:21.904+05:302012-08-21T14:23:21.904+05:30"karela" is the Hindi word for bitter go..."karela" is the Hindi word for bitter gourd. Okra would be "bhindi". Nice post, BombayJules.

I had gone to a temple in Chembur yesterday for an Upanayanam (the Hindu thread ceremony) and was subjected to a South Indian vegetarian breakfast AND lunch in the space of 3 hours. The breakfast had 8 items while the second meal had - hold your breath - 24 items served on banana leaves. Yummy food but I was so stuffed that I couldn't wait to go back home and lie down for a while. Will soon update my own blog with some pics I took. ~j~https://www.blogger.com/profile/01545750271574664978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6209917895693447861.post-72509550731598791402012-08-20T12:35:19.656+05:302012-08-20T12:35:19.656+05:30You need to add it to your list of tours! It would be interesting for sure!BombayJuleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13832768677477639407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6209917895693447861.post-60963505881468025362012-08-20T11:18:16.052+05:302012-08-20T11:18:16.052+05:30Oh well done!
